F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Conference

Sep 17, 2009 | Under: Appearances, News

I’ll be at the 14th Annual F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Conference  on Saturday, October 17, 2009 in Rockville, Maryland, where I’ll be leading a workshop on Writing the Novel.  The conference also sessions on Creative Non-Fiction, the Short Story, Poetry, Writing for Children, the Screenplay, and “Raising Voice.”  This year’s honoree is Julia Alvarez, and the keynote speaker is Azar Nafisi, author of Reading Lolita in Tehran.

Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald are buried nearby at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and on the gravestone is inscribed the final line from The Great Gatsby: “So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”
